Customer Reviews
I stopped by Mudgie’s and had a great first experience overall. I ordered the Gutty sandwich with coleslaw … the coleslaw was just okay, but the sandwich itself was absolutely the best part of the meal. All of the meats (salami, pastrami, corned beef, brisket, and bacon) were incredibly flavorful and tender, and the combination of everything worked really well together. It came with a few chips and a small pickle, which was fine for what I needed since I was mostly focused on the sandwich. I’m already planning to go back to try their Classic Corned Beef Reuben.
Just okay.. we sat at the bar because of a wait. The sandwiches are good but not worth 15-18 dollars. It wasn’t horrible but it’s definitely not worth the hype. We also got a carry out and it came with no chips and no pickle. I mean for 15 dollars I think I should get the whole meal to go. Macaroni salad was the best part of the meal. The music they played was good.
First time here and was really looking forward to it based on the reviews. We went for an early dinner. The place was at (most) 35% full and we waited 55 minutes for 2 sandwiches, almost missing our event at the Masonic Temple. Ordered the Sho' Nuff ($16.50) and the Reuben with corned beef ($16). Sho' Nuff - Turkey was very dry, there was barely any strawberry cream cheese and honestly didn't have much flavor, and it didn't have the triple berry jam. The Reuben was just okay, the sauerkraut tasted like it came from a can. Maybe they were having an off night? I don't know. Way overpriced for what you're getting. Overall a disappointment, especially with the hype around this place.
I had the Brooklyn sandwich (sorry I forgot to take a pic) and my cousin, a vegetarian, had the vegan corned beef sandwich. We loved our sandwiches. Our drinks were also excellent. I had a bloody Mary w a small side beer. It was the best bloody Mary I've ever had. My cousin had a pickle-tini (like a dirty martini, but w pickle brine). This place was BUSY, but the food is why. Also, three cop cars parked illegally in front on the restaurant while we were there, and got take out. They probably know where the good sandwiches are and now you know, too.
This place has been on my list to try for a while. I came here to grab a bite before going to a concert. I went during the perfect time. It wasn’t busy. The food was great. I got the Barrett corn beef with no slaw and a lemon drop.
