Customer Reviews
MUAN is a cafe inside Mama Mu’s, they’re different “companies” but you can order from either menu. I decided to order from the MUAN menu for a more brunch-like meal and had the Kaya toast, congee with pork, and the Muan tea (Thai tea, but also brewed with Malaysian and Sri Lankan leaves). I really enjoyed my time here and it’s clear the owner takes pride in their work and sharing the flavors of Thailand and SE Asia. Reminds me of my time in Thailand and feels authentic and nostalgic! Super affordable and honestly just worth to stop by for the tea as it’s made in front of you. As I was eating, I noticed the owner was kind enough to give someone a free tea for waiting a bit longer than expected to pick up their food. There’s only one person working in the kitchen and a wait should be expect
Generous portions and such a comforting and delicious Bah kut teh.. It was my first time trying this dish and it was like a warm hug in rainy SF. The herbal flavor in the pork bones was amazing. You can tell how much time goes into preparing this dish. If you love an herbal taste, this is very flavorful without being pungent. The pandan toast was also interesting: yummy, buttery, and both sweet and savory.
Good Thai and Malaysian food and casual atmosphere . They have lunch deals and happy hour deals for reasonable prices below $20. The food feels home made and not the reheated overpriced frozen slop you get in typical restaurants . Would come regularly if I lived closer .
kaya toast was inexpensive and tasted great! generously came with two eggs for dipping
Love the tea!!!
