Mr Sombrero Mexican Restaurant #4

Went to visit my hometown and met up with family at Mr. Sombrero. I have to say, it's one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in a while. The salsa was warm like I like it. Chips were good. My sister ordered fried pork skins and they were perfect. A must try with the white queso. I can't remember the name of my dish but it was a grilled chicken breast with a red sauce and cheese in top. You talk about tender! My brother and sister had margaritas. They must have been good because they both had another one. The staff was nice and I really liked the atmosphere. I definitely plan on going back.

As a server at another restaurant, I love spending my days off studying the craft. I’ll drive out of my way just to experience different service styles and see how they move. Today I was in Liberty County running errands and needed lunch, so I chose Mr. Sombrero based on previous Google reviews — and let me tell you, the reviews did not lie. From the moment you walk up, the place already sets the tone. The covered patio with the warm wooden beams, terracotta tile floors, and colorful murals gives you that relaxed, sun-washed Mexican courtyard feeling. Inside, the rustic wood, tile accents, and that massive tortilla machine on display remind you this isn’t fast food — this is operation. This is volume. This is rhythm. Tremendous service. Amazing food. High quality staff. These people care about what they do. I was one of only 2 people present as it was late on a holiday. They treated me as if I was spending a million dollars. I’m going back tomorrow for lunch before leaving town. It’s amazing.

This is one of my favorite date night places. Food is great, margaritas are delicious (grand gold is my current favorite), and the staff are very attentive. Almost a weekly stop for me.

We placed a large order over the Thanksgiving weekend and it was prepared in a timely manner - every item was as ordered, and the quality and flavor were great! Portions were large and we had leftovers! The staff is extremely service oriented and even offered to carry our order out to our car! Thanks!!
