Mr Greek Gyros - Halsted St

Gyros tasted more like spam meat , nothing like what you’d expect from a Greek place. They also forgot to include fries in my order. The only good part was the tzatziki. Not worth the price

I use to come here all the time and spend 30$ min. Now I won’t be coming back because the workers don’t honor the advertisement on their door. I showed my UIC Student ID and the man at the register brushed me off and said “No, the boss told me not to”. When I showed him the flyer on the door he ripped it off. Mind you I have been coming here for over 5 years and never once asked for a discount. This was the first time and he ignored me and brushed me away. They raised their prices and charge an Operational Charge but won’t honor a 10% student discount they posted. Also the chicken gyros is so dry and the worst I’ve ever had.

This place had one of the best gyros I have eaten any where. Partly due to them preparing your order fresh and hot- order from the counter. The gyro meat was delicious- arrived warm, juicy and tender. The sauce was amazing. An additional plus- the crinkle cut fries were perfect- well seasoned and hot. Can't saw I'm an authority on Greek food, but I eat a lot of gyros and this one was one of the best. Additionally- friendly and fast staff.

There was something weird and rubbery in the chicken burger that I ordered, when I went up to the worker and asked his to make a new one they kept saying no and that it’s black pepper.obviously it’s not black proper. I don’t know why the worker would not make a new one, even one of the other customers was telling him and the worker still said no, sounds to me they care more about their pockets than the customers.

We were out late exploring Chicago and came back to our hotel and all the restaurants were closing at 10pm (Thursday). Walked a couple blocks and found this Greek restaurant open, the food was good and quick to come out after ordering. They pack the protein in HEAVY, the fries were unsalted but crispy so I can’t complain. I ordered #1 combo and some onion rings 11/10 ( couldn’t have been more perfect ) , everything was delicious. My gf got the #2 combo and said it was good also, restaurant was clean, well kept, and easy to order with 2 registers where they give you a number they call when the food is ready. —-(my only complaint is no water available )—
