Mr Dunderbak's

We dined at Mr. Dunderbak’s for lunch. The restaurant is tucked away in the Volusia Mall. It is a narrow but long restaurant. They offer bar seating as well as small tables with chairs. Two of us ordered 1/2 Rueben sandwiches for $7.99 each. They were piled high with corned beef, saurercraut, and dressing. They tasted amazing! They came with a pickle spear and potato chips. Our third friend ordered the German Weimer Plate with pickled beats and warm German potato salad. She gave us each a forkfull of the potato salad. It was different than I expected but very tasty. Our waitress told us they are moving to a new location soon. I definitely plan to find it and patronize them again.

We finally made it to Dunderbak’s and were pleased with our choices. Der New Yorker and the German Wiener Plate were both good. Love the German decor and the wall of steins.

We've been coming here for years, don't know why I never wrote a review before now? We love this place! Have had schnitzel, sandwiches, sausages and all are as good as my Grandma used to make. Service is excellent and always with a smile. Great choice of German/Belgian beers, because let's face it USA beer sucks! Sounds like they are moving which we are excited about as will be closer to home and the Volusia mall is pretty much dead now.

If you like German food this is a good place to go. We have been going there off and on for about 10 years now. The last time we were there they seemed to only have one server and they were really busy. It took a little extra time but she did a good job.
