Mountain Table

We absolutely loved stopping at Mountain Table! It’s everything you want in a local eatery—fresh ingredients and great hospitality. The service was wonderful, fast, and friendly. The atmosphere is cozy and makes you feel right at home. If you're in the Renick area, definitely give this place a try. 5 stars!

We had higher hopes for Saturday dinner during ramp fest. We RSVP d to ensure there was enough food and had the Ramp Dinner. I had literally 1 ramp on my plate. The potatoes were dry and lacking any sort of flavor. Aham and beans were tasty as was the corn bread. Service was Spotty and there were plenty of open tables we asked several times for water which we never did receive. Two of the meals came out and food was like warm. Live music was nice and the local. Brew was good.

Update: Now open three days a week for breakfast, and Tuesday for dinner, as well as special events. So many great local ingredients made into tasty dishes. The lattes are great, too! Mountain Table is my local coffee roastery, and they're great for coffee! They do lots of other great things, as well, like host the Renick Community Market, full of local farmers and makers (every Tuesday 5-8pm). They're super helpful for community, and will soon start having more going on in the roastery (like food!) - check it out!

Went to Mountain Table for a dinner in support of the Greenbrier East Marching Band. We arrived early and went in to get a seat. The Hostess asked if we had reservations and we said no. Looking over a virtually empty dining room, she seemed perplexed and said she'd have to see if she could seat us. It was like a scene out of SNL! We did get seated and got the menus. The least expensive entree was a pulled pork platter for $28! Since it was in support of the band (and only that) we ordered, ate, and left, feeling somehow that we were occupying a reserved seat. The meal was OK, nothing spectacular. The whole experience left us feeling unwelcome and somehow that we were intruding. It was a one and done experience, for sure. I do hope the band made some money for their trip.

Me & a friend happened by this little diner while out exploring the mountains & shooting photographs. We had brunch consisting of omelets & a breakfast sandwhich. Food was just above good & so was the servuce, but the coffee was INCREDIBLE! We drank a dark roast which is about the best I have had. They sold a pepper bled a a farm down the road makes (see photo) that is delicious (and no salt like most spices.) We also got to try a new & upcoming hotsauce they make that is my kind of hot (a lot more than just warm), and Incredible! When it comes out it will be another regular for me. Would highly recommend THE MOUNTAIN TABLE to anyone who wants a taste of local culture and beautiful views! This out of the way restaurant has become a new favorite of mine, like a hidden gem.
