Mountain Road Library - Anne Arundel County Public Library

The library itself is fine in terms of books and space, but I haven’t always felt comfortable here. Some of the displays and symbols around the library feel more like personal or political statements than neutral public service. I understand libraries serve many different people, but it feels like there’s a strong emphasis on one particular viewpoint or community, which can make others feel out of place. My family and I just haven’t felt especially welcomed or represented in this space. I hope they can find a more balanced approach that makes all patrons feel equally included.

I love this library & and its staff. Everyone is so friendly. I was taking my child here for Babies in Bloom until she aged out of the group. And it was a wonderful experience. My only issue was that it gets crowded & very warm. I noticed this for Toddler Time as well. A lot of families take part in these groups. Which is wonderful but can be overwhelming.

Wonderful little space for a library. Convenient location inside the shopping center makes it easy for a quick stop when needed. My kids loved playing here with the toys available and there's a big selection of children's books as well. Staff was warm & welcoming. Thank you for this little gem of a library!

The helpful staff at this new (albeit small) branch library is warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. If they don't have a book, they will order it (or you can order it on-line; the website is good and easy to navigate). The area for children has not only books, but some (educational?) toys, stuffies, child-size tables and chairs, and couches to read on. My four-year old loves it there; it is also super clean (nice when your child is down on the floor reading or playing). Thank you for all you do for our community!!

I truly appreciate this library's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. If some people are uncomfortable because people who are different from them exist, then that is their problem, and not the library's problem. Many more of us prefer to be in an atmosphere where everyone is welcome and valued for who they are.
