Montour County Assistance Office

I was told to fill out an application for crisis instead of regular liheap cause I ran out of oil. They been giving me the run around for days even though I sent everything they needed. I just got off the phone with Sheryl and I said well I guess I'll be out heat longer being that tomorrow is Christmas eve and then Christmas day. She says CORRECT, not to mention the fact the office is open tomorrow till 12 noon, she pretty much confirmed they not gonna work on getting me oil either.

(Except for Ann, she’s an angel, she’s the only one who’s helped me) I’m truthfully disappointed and disgusted with this ungodly facility.. no wonder they only have 1 star reviews. I’m pregnant, out of work and in need of some serious help…. Do they care? No. I applied for benefits before Christmas… It’s now the new year and they haven’t helped me at all. You would think taking on this job you’d have a heart to help people… wrong. They leave you chasing your tail. Saying they’ll call back within the hour; hours turn into days… Thank God for karma; because they’ll get theirs.

Well I just had another surgery. Today my case was closed the way I found out was going on compass. I'm permently disabled and now no insurance. I wish I had a different caseworker. Mine never answers when I call. I'm on pain meds so I sleep alot it's like playing phone tag. She tells me I never sent in my renewal paperwork well it don't renew til 02/24 it's 07/23. She never told me she closed my case. I cannot get my meds anymore x-rays or tests so if I die I hope she gets sued because I get utis and kudney infections every month I almost died a week before Xmas so now I can't buy any antibiotics

These people routinely fail to send out information and renewal forms automatically, and have even failed to do so when directly requested! Their phone system hangs up on you after trying to navigate the automated nonsense and hitting a dead end. I have been in the office and seen reception laughing at people, which is unconscionable in a circumstance where people are often embarrassed by their position and trying to climb out of harsh economic realities. I do not know who oversee the welfare system in PA but they need to have a long, hard look at what's going on in Danville.

No one answers the phone at this office. You can wait, listen to their music for 20 minutes or more. The office is open, but how can you order heating oil if no one takes your call?
