Momento Gelato and Coffee

The gelato itself was some of the best I’ve ever had, but unfortunately, the overall experience was disappointing. We were told the gelato flight included four small cups of different flavors, which sounded like a great way to sample more options. However, the portions we received were much smaller than a standard small cup, which felt misleading. To make matters worse, we were charged more than the listed menu price, and when we asked for clarification, there was no apology or explanation. It was a letdown, especially considering how good the gelato was.

Pistachio gelato was the best ice cream I’ve ever had! Every flavor we tried was phenomenal. Going back for pints to keep at home ASAP!

On May 14, 2026, a local near Michigan Central Station recommended an ice cream spot to me. Craving something sweet, my friends and I made our way over, only to arrive right at closing time. As we approached the entrance, co-owner Ruth kindly gestured that they were closed—but then opened the door just to hear us out. We explained that we had come based on a local’s recommendation and fully understood that we’d have to return another time. Moved by our story, Ruth invited us inside to at least say hello to her husband Tom, the other co-owner. We stepped in, just to show appreciation and let them know we’d respect their hours and be back. My husband & I came across this little gem one day while we were exploring Detroit. We stopped by for a refreshing lemonade and a sweet treat. Momento hands down has the best pistachio cannolis around. We talked about how delicious they were days later 😆. The staff were very friendly! The establishment itself is so charming inside and out. Highly recommended checking them out!
