Molcajetes Mexican Restaurant

This appears to be the restaurant where all the locals go to and I understand why. This isn’t your standard burrito or taco place, where everything is smothered in a green or red sauce. This is more central Mexico cuisine and about as authentic as I’ve found. They did start us with chips and a very mild salsa. I had the Tropical Molcajete bowl with pineapple and a very flavorful, but light, sauce. It had both chicken and beef and the two flavors worked well together the pineapple was a fun sweet treat. It was served with a side of rice & beans, sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes. My husband had the shrimp on a bed of rice. The shrimp was correctly cooked (i.e. not overly done to rubber) with a nice light sauce. We were seated quickly, orders taken and food out in no time. Overall a very

Total happenstance to come across this place today and so glad we did. Their staff was helpful, not only to our table, but we watched them help each other with other tables. They made a busy meal service look effortless. The food was pretty good, hot, and the portions were adequate.

It was my first time trying this place out. The food was ok. The service could have been better. Once I got my food and drink I never seen the server again.

I really enjoyed the Popeye's dish along with a house Margarita! I asked for an extra salsa picosa for the chips and it was a great addition (with extra cost of course). Like the place and the background Mexican music. Service was great and glad they spoke English and Spanish!

Awesome service food and atmosphere. Highly recommend if traveling through or staying in town. Reasonably priced Drinks and food Very accommodating
