MJ's Restaurant Bar and Grill

I went to MJ’s in a party of 10 with a reservation. I got there 10 minutes early to decorate for a birthday and the table wasn’t ready! They took me downstairs and as I walked down the stairs, I could feel the coldness. The room was EMPTY and the table wasn’t ready! They tried to put us at a table with a column in the middle of it and not enough seats. I had to redirect them. Then they tried to squeeze us into two small tables so I had to ask them to add another table. Once we were all there, it took a while just to get our drinks. The room became increasingly cold. The joke at our table was that everyone was sitting on their hands and then started putting their winter coats back on. We asked THREE times…three times for them to fix the heat. Went here to grab some food and first I have to comment on the service. Wasn’t greeted by the host/hostess so we just sat ourselves down. Then our waitress came (don’t even know her name because she didn’t introduce herself to us) and was met with an unfriendly attitude. We place our drink and food orders, and the drinks came out quick. Maybe like 35 minutes pass at this point and our food still has not come out yet. We only ordered a burger and nachos for the appetizer. At that point, we were so hungry we just bailed (couldn’t even find our waitress to ask for the bill because she disappeared after giving us our drinks, and didn’t even come up to check on us once to even update us about our food wait time) and paid for the drinks by leaving cash on the table and left. Food was good, wings are big soup was flavorful. Sandwhiches were tasty. Building is older which is fine by me. Nice to overlook the creek, they have a small patio area to sit outside. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. We would go back. They have food and drink deals everyday.

Mj's is a typical bar/restaurant. They have decent food like burgers and beers. The main attraction for me here is that it overlooks the waterfalls. You can on occasion find a seat that overlooks the falls. I have been here a number of times over the years, even well before it was MJ's, during the spring after trout was stocked into the stream and we could actually watch some of the fish. Trying to jump up the falls from all the way up there in the window overlooking the falls. Whether or not you do that doesn't matter, it's a decent place anyway.

Stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon after a day on the beach. Casual, tavern-y feel with lots of dark wood. Nice view of the brook where some folks were having fun. I took advantage of their Wednesday $3 Yuengling special and started with the Chicken Quesadilla. For my meal, I ordered the French Onion Soup (very well done!) and the Meatball Sliders which are served on garlic bread with a side of chips. My family ordered a Cheeseburger and a Volcano Burger. All were very tasty, but the burgers were slightly overdone (ordered medium, verged on medium well). Both the regular fries and the sweet potato tots were delicious, so it's nice to have choices. I'd go back again.
