Miramare Italiano

As an Italian from New York who grew up with her grandmothers home made cooking… this place is the closest I’m ever going to get to that again. Miramare was first recommended to me when a friends foreign exchange student from Italy told us we need to go, it was the closest thing to home she had here in the states. We chose to attend for our anniversary and will never regret it, their summer menu was divine, the constantly changing menu to incorporate the freshest in season ingredients is a protocol every restaurant should live by. I needed to bring a dessert to an Italian-themed birthday dinner. I called Miramare Italiano and was immediately put through to Chef Luca. He immediately agreed to prepare the dessert, and patiently talked through the options with me. Pickup was easy, and the front-of-the-house staff was very helpful and gave me a beautiful cake box to borrow and take with me. Best of all the cake was beautiful and unbelievably delicious! Everyone raved about it and I really scored on bringing it!! All in all, a great experience! Now I can’t wait to go back for a complete dinner!

So this is going to be picky, started off with the bruschetta and the flavor was phenomenal especially for this time of year with no really good tomatoes. My personal opinion is I would have added a tiny bit of finishing salt. The meal came with a salad and I thought I ordered a garden but ended up with a bowl of romaine hearts, three croutons some parm and a light Cesar dressing with a lemon wedge. I love lemon so really appreciate the wedge touch but left most of that in the bowl. For entree I had nonas chicken parmesan, the cutlet was spot on and the red sauce was delicious. Spaghetti was very nice( I don't like al dente) and it was not. Creamy pasta paired excellent with the red sauce again. However one more time I was wanting some finishing salt just a touch. Food and service was incredible! Particularly our waitress Maria. She was thoughtful and provided us with anything we asked for and was incredibly kind. Chicken piccata was the best I’ve ever had. Thank y’all for making my wife’s birthday special! Will be back soon!!

Located in a beautiful marketplace, this restaurant looked very promising, but the quality of the food didn't live up to our expectations. There were four people in my group and we also know another group of four people that were there the same night and we all had issues with our food. Coincidence? Maybe a bad night in the kitchen? We didn't know, but we do know that we will not be rushing back anytime soon. My chichen was very tough and chewy, as well as the other person's chicken dinner at my table. I was told that the shrimp were gritty. And the lobster ravioli was very bland. While the friends we knew at another table told us about their dislike of the food, I don't know exactly what they had.
