Milford Town Library

I've been here a handful of times at different times of the day and no matter what it's ALWAYS so noisy! The majority of the ruckus coming from staff members talking to another from different reference desks several yards from another, laughing and telling jokes at the expense of an individual I assume they all know. What happened to "Shhh quiet in the library"??? Today I went to complete a module for an accounting certificate I'm currently enrolled in & was distracted I couldn't hear myself think or finish an assessment that's counts toward my grade. I had to leave & unless there's absolutely no other option I WON'T return.

I've spent quite a lot of time in libraries over my life, they're kind of my hobby. Would you believe so much so that I've supported hundreds of thousands of dollars in charitable giving and awards to libraries. I had an upsetting experience here with a staff member, a line was crossed for me. I will not be coming back here again because of it. I think the some of the older staff might benefit from some training around respecting dignity. I hope this post serves as a demarcation, if others have been made to feel essentially unwanted, remember this library is a public service and a great tradition in this country. I appreciate their attention to detail and COVID precautions. Staff are attentive, courteous and helpful. Love their family programming. Staff are super efficient in filling hold requests. If the item is available on the shelves, they'll grab it quickly!

I love, love, love this library. The staff is friendly; the place is clean; as part of the cw mars system, you can get pretty much any book, CD, DVD, games, gaming system(!) you want. It's great.

I tried to reserve a room at the library for a meeting of 8 residents of Milford to discuss our condominium complex . I was told it would cost us $ 50. I thought this was a public library??? I told them this is a not for profit group but then they require a not for profit tax form . We were very disappointed.
