Mid-Continent Public Library - Riverside Branch

I encountered rudeness at this location as I merely turned one small table so I could face the window and not the wall. After I was finished I proceeded to return the table in the direction to which it was found. A person who appeared to be in charge came rushing in and charged at me telling me rather forcefully 'please don't move the tables!' and would not allow me to continue to place the table back in its original direction. This was highly unnecessary and uncalled for. I am a tax payer and was not causing any harm. Meanwhile, in the other library stalls there were people with shoes off, bare feet and sleeping who were taking valuable space that could have been used by a person who desired to use library services. Went in to print a document. Submitted it on the online website they recommended AND emailed it to them. They could not figure out how to print it & shoved me out of the door because it was closing time. They gave a pathetic excuse about the machines shutting down at exactly 8pm.

Love coming here with my kids, truly the best library and the best staff. Is there someone who cleans at night? It is always so nice in here but I do see the same every time I’m here what look like snot spots on the furniture in the kids area, same with furniture facing out the windows by the computers. Can these areas be sanitized and wiped down?

I don't usually do these reviews, but I'm so disappointed in humanity as a whole right now, that I need to express my frustration.I reserved a room at this location on Wednesday (03-19-25) for two hours to take the GRE exam.As a first time test taker, I wasn't aware of how long the check in process for the test was going to take, leaving me not enough time to finish in the allotted amount of time that I did the reservation for.I was almost done with the test when the next person that reserved the room came to claim the room, making extremely rude, offensive and aggressive gestures through the glass window telling me to leave the room(setting a magnificent example for the little girl that accompany him) .The librarian disrupts into the room twice (after telling her the type of exam I was

Not our usual location, but had 30 minutes to kill with the toddler away from home and were nearest to this branch. The librarian at the front desk was very friendly and engaged with the little one as soon as we walked in. Didn’t see toys or anything, but the kids section was fully stocked with a good selection of books, multiple seating options, and a charming, gigantic stuffed bear. We read comfortably. Only criticism would be that the majority of books on display in the kids section are special/social interest, so it was a little frustrating to find the books that hold the interest and attention of a kid who just wants a good story or cool pictures of animals.
