Mickey's Ribs & Gyros

Mickey's is like an old fashioned hot dog/hamburger restaurant with a more modern feel to it. I had initially drove by this thinking it was a sit down restaurant that specialized in ribs because the building gives off fancier vibes than a hole in the wall restaurant normally does. A pretty standard menu. I asked the young man working the counter what the locals like the most. Not surprisingly, he said ribs and gyros. So I ordered the gyros plate. Its definitely big enough for two (like the wall says) and I could only get about half way through it. The meat wasn't super juicy and it was just missing something. We've been enjoying Mickey's in Tinley for 50 years. Literally. We saw them open. This last trip, 3.3.26 was a notably bad experience. Gyro meat was OK but dry, sauce was different and different is not good for mickeys, fries were bland, cheese dip tasted plastic, onions were chemical, like they changed all their recipes in 3 months time. Sorry to say. Mickeys was always reliable. If they did change, WE NOTICED.

Great food and excellent service! This place has been around for as long as I can remember and I’m middle age. Still the same owners that were running the place when I was just a little girl although they did move to the building next door a few years ago. I would recommend anything on their menu, it’s all fantastic but I’m usually there for their grilled chicken sandwich on a pita and their fried mushrooms!

I went today and had the gyro plate which was ordered online but I enjoyed it there. While I was there I ordered additional items because I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly service. The food was good, especially the gyro plate. This business makes the food fresh and at the right temp.

The gyros are good, but service is AWFUL . We got there at 7:35 to order food and at 7:58 tge owner intentionally turned the lights off while we were eating in the dark for the last five minutes.. They close at eight, but that is ignorant and they do not appreciate their customers. The kitchen lights were on still why they were cleaning, and the register is being closed, but he intentionally lets his customers sit in the dark. When you ask him about it, he thinks it’s funny. HORRIBLE
