Mi Luna Cuban Cafe

Absolutely incredible, authentic Cuban food. I’ve spent years looking for a place like this in Washington, and I feel so lucky to have finally found it. From the moment you read the menu—and especially once you taste the food—you can tell that every dish has been carefully crafted to stay true to the flavors of real Cuban cuisine. I ordered the Pastelito de Carne, and it was outstanding. The seasoned ground beef, which is essential to a great pastelito, instantly transported me back home. It truly felt like that unforgettable scene in Ratatouille when the critic tastes the food and is carried away by flavor and memory. Then came the Croquetas, the Lechón, the Ropa Vieja (my favorite dish of all time), the black beans, and the mojo. I was able to try all of this by ordering the Tour of Ha

I don't know if I can love this place more. dinner atmosphere is wonderful in the counter service at lunch is really convenient. I could randomly order anything from the menu and it would be fabulous. The picadillo is my favorite but the Cuban is also wonderful . every dessert is awesome, the cranberry key lime special was wonderful. taking the time for coffee is a must.

Beautiful restaurant, I loved the ambiance. Very kind staff. Food was super flavorful. Definitely get a reservation, it is not a large dining space, but it feels like you are at abuela’s casa.

I can not give this place any more stars. It's so fantastic, & our first experience with proper Cuban (& Dominican) cuisine. Everything was outstanding, from the Lechon & Ropa Vieja, to the black beans & rice, classic Cuban sandwich, & ham (or chicken) croquettas. They should bottle the lime-cilantro crema; it cuts thru the richness of every dish with fresh garlicky goodness. My long-simmering ground beef stew-like dish with raisins was amazingly complex, with black beans & rice. So flavorful. Save room for dessert: coconut flan, abuela's guava cheesecake, dulce de leche affogato, citrus olive oil cake, with a variety of coffees. Service was fast & hospitable. We ordered the Cuban sandwich with that great crema on the side & the Dominican red beans & rice to go.

This place is a gem! Easy parking, great location, great service, and amazing food! This is an instant favorite for Lynda and me! Easily the best Cubano I've ever had, and the pan con lechon is even better! The ropa vieja with Cuban black beans was delicious! Portions are generous. Highly recommend Mi Luna!
