Best Nica food in Atlanta! My wife and I ate here and it was amazing! My wife is also from Nicaragua and said the food was very authentic. We had the carne asada and the pollo jalapeño and everything was cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Honestly had a great experience on my visit. Service was great and the place was clean with nice tables that have pictures plastered all over of Nicaragua. I had the Salpicon and honestly fell in love with everything on my plate. I picked at my friend's plate as well and all had great flavor. I went on a slower day but I know on weekends they have live music so will definitely come back and check them out again then.
Exploring new foods and came across this restaurant. I can't judge the authenticity of the Nicaraguan food, but I can say that it was delicious and portions were generous. The service was outstanding and the place was clean. I got some adobo pork dish and my friend got a Nicaraguan pork tamale. The price was more than I was expecting but still reasonable for what you get.
Lets dive in...The price: I noticed several reviews talking about the cost of the plates. I want to say that as a Nicaraguan in Atlanta coming from Miami, you definitely cannot expect to spend the $10-$15 per plate of "La Fritanga". This is a rare gem, and should be treated as such. Locally we only have 3 Nicaraguan restaurants, and this is as close to Managua you will get. If you have sent packages from Atlanta to managua or vice versa you would know transportation and import cost is high, the Picos are authentic, rosquillas galore, and Milca, cant forget the Milca...Let's dive into the food. Not sure if its because flavors very per regions in my country, but as a Managuan born, the food held up to that of my home city. DELICIOUS, portions are perfect, and the cacao was large (about 20oz)
Tried their grilled chicken with a side of queso frito and their carne asada. The chicken was amazing. The carne asada was a bit dry for my taste but seasoned well nonetheless. The music was a bit too loud, making it impossible to have a conversation with the person sitting next to me. Service was good. Will definitely go back when visiting this side of town.
