This is by far the most authentic Salvadorian food I’ve found in Houston. I stopped by with my two nieces, and although they can be picky eaters, they absolutely loved the chicken pupusa and the loroco. I had the special of the day: panes con pollo, and it was incredibly delicious. We ended up ordering the waffle with ice cream and I must say, it’s a must! The flavors were fresh, comforting, and truly reminded me of home. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Muy Rico!!!!! This place is a diamond in the rough. Happened to be in the area and was craving some good Salvadorean food and nothing beats a family owned and run restaurant. I got the beef stew filled with yummy vegetables and the rice and handmade tortillas were chefs kiss!
I was very impressed by this little place. Mi Casita is a small, family run neighborhood place that has seriously good food. The service was very helpful, and we ended up trying a few kinds of pupusas, some breakfast dishes, and a lunch dish. Everything was very good, and my fried fish was perfectly cooked. They also make maduros just right, the same way I make then at home - most other restaurants don't let the platanos get ripe enough first, but it's just right here. The plates also come with a little salad on the side, which is a very welcome accompaniment.
I’m married to a Salvadoran and we frequent Salvadoran restaurants all over town. This one is a jewel. Most Salvadoran restaurants have rude service even if the food is good. Here, at Mi Casita, we found very sweet and nice service. The pupusas we all got (party of 9!) were delicious, NOT greasy, and came out pretty quickly. We will definitely be back. Clean restaurant and delicious food. So glad we found this place. The owner did tell us that if we ever want to have our food ready to eat without a wait, we can call her so the pupusas are ready when we come in. IFYKYK, pupusas are always made to order so they do take a little long to be cooked and served. Given this option to call ahead, is great.
Stopped in on a whim and was pleasantly surprised to find a cute, well kept and friendly place. I was with my 8 month old daughter and we had a great time with Blendy. The place just opened in May 2025 , food is excellent!
