Mexicana Grill & Cantina

Try this Mexican restaurant! Mexicana recently opened in Newton, and it's become one of our go-to spots. They have a number of weekly specials, but the main appeal is their menu - with a great variety of both the "classic" Mexican restaurant staples (burritos, enchiladas, etc.), as well as a bunch of twists and variations on the classics. Our go-to has been the combination of an El Diablo margarita, with Carnitas tacos (see image)! If you haven't already, the Birria Tacos are also a favorite!

Great food, great vibes, outstanding service The Laredo burrito here is very good—flavorful, filling, and perfectly prepared. It’s the kind of dish you’ll want to come back for. The non-alcoholic sangria was also excellent: refreshing, well balanced, and a great option if you’re skipping alcohol. Service was truly outstanding—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The decor is nice and inviting, creating a warm, comfortable atmosphere that makes you want to stay and enjoy your meal. Highly recommended for a relaxed, satisfying dining experience 🌯🍹

Just tried the new Mexican spot that opened in Newton and it’s a total win. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care—everything we ordered was delicious... If you’re in Newton and love great Mexican food, this place is definitely worth a visit. Go give it a try—you won’t regret it!

Absolutely loved this place! The Oaxaca Colada cocktail was outstanding—smooth, tropical, and perfectly balanced. The tortilla-crusted salmon was excellent, cooked just right with great flavor and texture. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the decor is beautiful, fun, and full of personality. A great spot for both a relaxed dinner or a night out.

I love Mexican food and I am Very happy to have this new place in Newton, I really enjoyed a fantastic Mexican plate ‘BIRRIA TACOS’ love the guacamole and margaritas are delicious. 100% recommendations.
