Merengue Restaurant

Never giving this place my money again. The first time I ordered from them, I got a fillet of fish in coconut sauce with white rice and beans. They put the food in a cheap foil tin, so by the time I got it from the Uber driver, the sauce had soaked through the bag and the food spilled all over my steps. Thankfully, I was able to get a refund through Uber because the restaurant staff told me that since it wasn’t their fault I would have to pay to replace it. The second time I ordered from them, I found a label that appeared to be from one of their vegetables in my rice. I tried to call them to explain this, but the woman on the phone was dismissive and rude. For the third and final time, I just ordered from them tonight, and the fish that I ordered taste rancid. I went here earlier in the year and my time was amazing over here. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the dining experience was so rich. I had the Mofongo Burger and Strawberry Smoothie and the meal tasted delightful. I will definitely plan to comeback here in the future.

Foods wa very bland I don’t live far from the restaurant I waited an hour for my food and it was freezing by the time I made home 10 minutes away whole fried snapper fish no sauce no flavor maduros cut super thick and Moro bland with no flavor been in Roxbury longer than the restaurant has and this was my first and last time eating from them my kids like the empanadas but those were also sub par

Authentic Dominican cuisine! The place was full of families enjoying the food & atmosphere

I usually love this place but the recipe for their famous sangria has definitely changed and not in a good way! Wish they could go back to the original wine that they always used in their recipe. My waitress was great as always!
