Merengue Dominican Restaurant and Bar

SHADY ESTABLISHMENT DO NOT EAT HERE! My husband and I went in last Friday (10/10/25) and were told by the server to check out the “Listo pa Servir” (which translates to “ready to serve”) food that was premade in the back of the restaurant. We made our way to the back, selected our rice, and our meat which we thought was part of the lunch special from 11AM - 3PM as detailed on the menu that says “EVERYTHING AT $12”. See attached photo. Well…the check arrives for a whopping $61.67! That’s a heck of a lot more than the $29 check I was expecting with two lunch specials, a side of tostones, and only ordering cups of water. The person at the door who was checking IDs was very rude and not welcoming. My friend and I went to go sit at the bar and then got rudely greeted by the bartender, demanding our IDs after just watching us come through the door and seeing us get checked. After ordering two drinks, I asked for a food menu, which I never received. A few minutes later, the gentleman at the door told us we needed to get up from the bar and sit somewhere else because the seats were “reserved.” I have never been somewhere where the seats at the bar counter were reserved. I really wanted to love this place but just wouldn’t recommend honestly.

Oh my goodness. I was hungry but I knew I didn't want Mexican, Mariscos, or American so I told my husband to chose. He chose here and now it's my favorite place. I had the Morongo on sweet banana with shrimp in Creole season. 😋😋😋 and their Guava juice😋

Atmosphere is good. Don’t get the Wings They took like 40 Minutes to be ready when I got them they were super overcooked. Like they forgot them in the fryer or something. Service sucks I had to walk up to the Bar every single time to get my drinks I live close by and I will never come back
