Mercado 925

Wow, just wow. We lucked into this place...Just looking for a place to eat and found this on Google Maps. Great venue. Beautiful interior. Great wait staff. And then the food!!! Try the tuna tostadas (ask for extra tostados). My Al Pastor tacos were terrific! Corn tortillas, lots of meat, Great salsa on the side.

We had a lovely dinner Mercado 925 last night. On a warm night the atmosphere was perfect and the food was exceptional. The top dishes were the house made blue corn tortilla quesadilla with mushrooms, the camerones with garlic sauce and cilantro rice and the shrimp ceviche. The Pollo Asado tacos were very good but not as standout as the other dishes. And my only complaint was the chips- they were oily and not very crunchy but I was happy to skip those and dig into the real dishes. The servings are generous for the price and quality. Lastly, the service was a bit inattentive but otherwise it was a great meal, especially for Berkeley, and we will definitely be back.

This is a solid Mexican food option slightly more upscale than the many other Mexican options around Berkeley but still very approachable. Good for larger groups as they have a little of indoor seating.

It's a nice big area and the tables are spread out so you have your privacy. The food and service was good. The flan however was very disappointing.

The food was absolutely delicious—the enchiladas and potato tacos were especially good. The servers were very friendly, and the ambience was lovely. The desserts, however, were the highlight for me. I tried Mercado Pot De Crème. Highly recommend checking it out!
