This place was okay at best. It is split between 2 sections. One is a partially guided tour of the login camp. And another is what I can best describe as a history museum of the tribe. The history museum of the tribe was worth the money, but I can't necessarily say the same for the logging camp tour. I definitely came in on a bad day as the guide for the camp tour was not feeling well. But it ended up being more of a self guided tour with a museum worker accompanying you. If you had any questions, you could ask but I ended up just kind of walking around. And looking at stuff essentially, there were not that many signs up to read. The person who was giving the tour for me had been around for a long time, but it didn't seem like he knew a whole lot of specifics. Just more general knowledge, w
Visiting this museum was a great experience. The woman that talked with us was very informative and helpful. Explained about the Sturgeon festival coming up and all about the special tea's and what they are used for. A friend of mine needed info on trying to find her grandfather's tribe and she went above and beyond to help her and gave her more ways to find out further info. Highly recommend
I've driven past many times, but stopped on with my grandson as he likes museums. It was very interesting and educational. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable (as well as patient with an 8 year old). Will definitely return. Nice gift shop as well.
It was fantastic, very educational. You can appreciate how hard the pioneer loggers must have worked. Employees were very nice. Terrain is a little hilly and uneven walkways are not paved, all grass areas. Those with mobility issues definitely need walkers, those with wheelchairs may have a challenge seeing everything.
There is so much to see ! Numerous buildings loaded with historical items and settings. Photos of the times and people working there. Never saw so many saws, axes, pulleys, horse shoes, etc.!! Be sure to check out that furniture that is made of thread spools!! 😮 A tour guide will take you from building to building. Our guide was very friendly and accommodating however she did not know much of the history as she had just started.☹️ That's why 4 stars.
