Customer Reviews
I recently visited Menchie’s on Montgomery Boulevard in Albuquerque and overall had a positive experience. The frozen yogurt selection was excellent, with great flavor variety and quality toppings. The shop itself was also very clean and well-maintained, which made the visit enjoyable. That said, the customer service could use some improvement. During my visit, the employee behind the counter did not greet customers or offer any assistance. While the checkout process was handled efficiently, there was a prompt for a tip at the register, which felt a bit out of place given the lack of interaction or service. I would still recommend this location for the product and environment, but a more welcoming and engaging customer service approach would really elevate the overall experience.
I don’t like that I can’t rate this a 0 star, it does not even deserve a 1 star review. I came with my family after dinner, my brother and I had the most miserable week, we got so sick that I had to go to the hospital, I was told I got food poisoning due to bacteria growth in the fruit because they did not wash their hands after using the restroom!!!! I called and spoke to the manager Irene and all I was told is “They do NOT have control over their bar” she also mentioned that fruit had already been thrown away, I could probably give her options on what to do to prevent this to happen, she could not give me a solution and just took my information down to have the owner call me, I have NOT received a call from an owner, maybe he does not care about his customers, I will never come back here
Today was my last time visiting and I left without even buying anything. The machines are filthy every time I go in, floors are gross, and all flavors have a very strange taste now. They all taste kinda the same. I'm betting the lines don't get cleaned regularly. Last time I went in the pumpkin was pure white and tasted odd. The employees confirmed it was strange but said they weren't sure why that was. This time everything tasted similar with a weird aftertaste but the establishment was too filthy for me to even get anything anyways and I was the only one there. I will not be back. I'd rather drive to Paseo or just get something at Sprouts.
I used to enjoy coming here after church, but lately it’s been a bit much. For three people, it ends up costing around $50 which feels excessive for self-serve frozen yogurt with standard toppings. On top of that, there’s a prompt to tip, even though the staff’s main responsibility is restocking and keeping the place clean which is expected in any food establishment. I regularly eat at places where the staff actually prepares the food and they don’t even ask for tips. Unfortunately, this spot just isn’t my go-to anymore.
Menchies is so fun, but a little pricey for what you get. The "worth it" factor is definitely getting to choose multiple flavors at once and pick your toppings, which you can't do when you buy a tub of ice cream. I got original tart, cheesecake, natural vanilla, and coconut, and wow they were fantastic. I like the strawberry popping boba too. We came around sunset in May and there was noone else in the store. They also still have sample cups under the desk and will hand you them 1 at a time instead of having them set out pre-Covid. Mine was about $5.
