Mely's Take Out

This is a great spot for Puerto Rican food. The food was amazing. The service is solid, and the atmosphere is cute. We ordered two dinners. One with porkchop and one with stewed beef. The rice portions are huge. You won't finish a dinner and be hungry afterwards. The price was a bit higher than we thought it would be but it was still worth it. Homemade vibes were in the dishes. Mely didn't have a menu for us but was good at telling us what was available for us. Althought she said the order would be ready in 15 minutes. It took a bit longer than that it seemed. The atmosphere is nice. It's very clean and colorful. There's a TV playing music to watch and listen to. The location itself isn't in the greatest neighborhood but it was fine. i am super picky with puerto rican food so i honestly was not expecting much especially since it’s hard finding good pr food outside the island. but let me tell you… mely’s take out was sooo good. like better than some spots i have had on the island. i was surprised. you can tell it is made with love. the flavors were on point, everything tasted fresh, seasoned just right … not overdone, not dry, just real home cooked goodness. definitely one of the best puerto rican meals i have had in a long time. i will 100% be going back whenever i am back here.

I recently ordered the Pernil Dinner, and let me tell you, it was an experience. From the very first bite to the very last, every morsel was bursting with flavor. The pernil was incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, a true testament to traditional Puerto Rican cooking. It was so good, in fact, that I quite literally found myself licking the plastic container clean – no Cap! Do yourself a favor if you're in town get yourself a meal from Melys – you won't regret it!
