Melting Pot

Definitely a fun experience overall, but honestly a bit overpriced. I made a reservation in advance and paid extra for a Valentine’s Day table setup with roses that the restaurant advertised. I arrived right on time for my reservation, but when I gave my name, the staff appeared unprepared and were scrambling to figure out my table despite the setup being prepaid. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect the table to be ready when arriving at the reserved time. What was most disappointing was the lack of communication. No one explained what was happening or how long the wait would be — I was simply left standing there unsure of the situation. The food and the service were outstanding - excellent. JAY, our Guide through the options and the processes, was charming, patient, and knowledgeable. The very simple but brilliant process of timing the cooking from our phones was fun. And the family evening was a great way to celebrate my leapyear non-birthday. Can hardly wait for next time. We enjoyed lunch on New Year's Eve day at the Roswell Melting Pot. Excellent service by Sydney! Cheese fondue, entree fondue with a variety of meats and seafood, dark chocolate raspberry fondue with so many things to dunk: pound cake, brownie bites, strawberries, bananas, rice crispy treats. In between a yummy salad. Truly delightful afternoon.

A great place for special occasions or celebrations, although my friend and I went “just because” (we love melted cheese and chocolate). We had the standard 4-course menu for two, and not only did everything taste great, but there was also plenty of food. (Fyi, we are both female.) Since it was my friend’s first time at The Melting Pot, we mostly followed our server’s recommendations for the cheese, entrée, and broth, and I’m glad we did. We were very happy with our selections. The server was extremely kind and friendly; he definitely enhanced our Melting Pot experience. He answered all our questions about the menu and how the courses worked, and he also gave us a heads-up throughout the meal about what he was doing to transition to the next course. If you like overpriced oil dripping food this is the place for you! The stench of bubbling oil fills the air and adds to the bad atmosphere. I am not sure how many times I will need to wash my cloth before the smell will go away. Heartburn and reflux come as a bonus, free of charge. Even the kids did not enjoy it. 4 people ordered small dished and no drinks yet we paid $227. Never going back there again.
