Meek’s Heavenly Hands

This plate was hittin’! The fried catfish was seasoned just right—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. That crunch had me hooked with every bite. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and full of flavor, just like how grandma used to make it. And those collard greens? Whew! Perfectly cooked with that slow-simmered, southern taste that pulls the whole meal together. Everything tasted fresh and was well-balanced. Definitely a soul food plate that brought comfort and satisfaction. 10/10—would order again!

Honestly I have no idea if this was a bad night for them or what but the food I got tonight absolutely does NOT match what these other reviews say. First time trying them and I will never go back. The potato salad is mush and tastes horrible. Everything else lacks flavor at all. Bland like no seasoning was used and I know seasoning I’m a chef. They also charged way more than the menu said. $80 for this! What a rip off.

I visited this restaurant after hearing great things. I ordered fried whiting with Mac and cheese and collard. I was enjoying the food until I wasn’t. While I was eating my collard greens, what I was initially thought was a piece of seasoning turned out to be a BABY ROACH. I’m so disgusted and I have no words.

I went to Meeks for the first time today. I got pork ribs, chicken wings, collard greens, green bean and cornbread. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I mean really really good soul food. Run don't walk and get there. (I am a Berlin guy who picked up a soul food habit while working in Hartford in the late 1980s - this is the real deal).

The food was delicious, especially the Mac and cheese. We had the fried chicken entree and the spicy tenders. Both were well spiced, meat was tender but the outside crunchy. Would definitely recommend!
