Mecate Mexican Restaurant

First time here but food wood excellent. One of the best Mexican food restaurants in the area.

A nice option for Mexican compared to similar places. I'm from Oklahoma where Mexican food is supreme, and it's been hard to find a substitute here. I've eaten here a few times for lunch and service is fast and the food is decent. The salsa is bit too "marinara" and the sides are small portions but otherwise the food I've eaten has been adequate. One time their credit card machines were down and they were kind enough to just tell us to come back whenever to pay. Very trusting! We immediately went home to get cash since we live right down the street.

Ever since my husband and I moved here from TX we’ve been searching for a place that serves Birrias so when this place opened up we got excited! Today we did a pick up order of their Birrias. We got home and I was so disappointed. They were so small, single tortilla and lack flavor! The beans looked and tasted straight out of a can and they tasted burnt. The rice has no flavor at all I think it may have been out of a box or microwave to be honest. This is heart breaking considering that they’re $16.99 per plate! So needless to say we won’t be back and our search continues!

Found out this restaurant opened on Facebook. We decided to give it a try and we were thoroughly impressed. Our server, Mekhi, was fantastic. The birria fries were to die for. Our daughter had the quesadilla and loved it. My fiancé had the grilled fish tacos which were also excellent. The prices are more affordable than other Mexican restaurants in the area. We will definitely be returning.

Such a friendly welcoming environment! We’ve been a few times already and will absolutely keep coming back. Staff is kind and attentive and food is great. We had nachos when we visited today and the portion was huge. Margaritas are just what this town needed! Muchas gracias para tu comida buena! Bienvenida a la comunidad!
