Meat BBQ

We discovered this home to BBQ heaven a decade or so ago and stop here whenever we're passing through Lansing during business hours. They have, in my experience, the best BBQ anywhere. The bark on the brisket and pulled pork is heaven sent and the meat is always moist, never dry. It's perfect as is, but... the sauce is fantastic too. We bought a bottle of the sweet, coffee based Black Magic to take home, and cherry bomb is also delicious choice and delivers some heat. Sides are outstanding as well. The new BBQ salad (not sure about the name choice) is refreshing and packs a surprising kick. I'm not sure if the heat comes from the balsamic vinaigrette or the pickled onions, but the mix of spice with fresh avocados, greens, tomatoes, and apples is a great choice for a side. It is hard to find parking around this place, but if you are able to get a spot, you are in for a treat of meats. Their meats can stand on their own, you don't even need sauce. They were out of the sausage, but made up for it with brisket. The mustard sauce is also very good on everything, but not needed. You got a try the pickle fries. They are different than I have ever had before, in the best way. The lady at the register was so kind. She did a wonderful job advising me on some wonderful food. The owner must be a huge Star Wars fan. I loved the decorations. Vader greats you as soon as you walk in. Tool was on the speakers, great place.

The barbecue at Meat restaurant was excellent. The rack of pork-ribs was tender and flavorful, it was season just right and not to overpowering. The restaurant was clean, welcoming, and the decor enhanced the cultural atmosphere, offering a distinctive dining experience in a spacious one-of-a-kind setting.

You will notice right away the StarWars theme here! So enjoy haha but you'll notices it's not exclusive of this franchise, so look around!!! The food was pretty good and you get a lot, which after a little beet could get your taste exhausted, so maybe share what you get with someone else so you get more flavors? Place is spacious and staff was very welcoming

Stopped in for lunch at Meat BBQ and it was outstanding. The atmosphere has that perfect balance of laid-back and lively — a true local gem. I ordered the Build Your Own Mac & Cheese with sausage and chorizo, and it was incredible — creamy, spicy, and served in a skillet literally the size of a small pizza. Easily one of the best macs I’ve ever had. My wife got The Chin-Gorilla sandwich (pulled pork, house pimento cheese, grilled pineapple, fried onions, and bacon) and couldn’t believe how good it was. Huge portions, fast service, and every bite packed with flavor. Definitely one of the best BBQ spots around Lansing — worth every calorie.
