Max's on the Lake

Max's might seem a little small initially, but there's more seating than you think! The food was fantastic, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and even though we showed up on bingo night (Monday, and it was VERY busy) we were still well taken care of as non bingo players! We will return

Showed up at 5:30, the waitress seated us right away and took our order. We had a group of 5, and it was slightly busy. We waited 1 hour and 50 min for our food. When the food was brought out, it was only half of the food. Another 20 minutes goes by and the rest of our food came. 3 people from our group had to leave before even eating, so I had to deliver their food. By the time we got all of our food it had been 2 hours and 10 min. I tried my salad and the lettuce was very soggy, chicken was super dry. The only thing I enjoyed about this place was the scenery. My boyfriend only took 2 bites from his burger before deciding it was time to go. $188.00 between the tip and food for 5 on a Sunday afternoon. We had rented a VRBO on the lake, not to far from here over the 4th of July. You have to park across the highway (local road). We stopped here for an early dinner (4:30pm) on a rainy evening. It wasn’t too busy. Service (Tori) was excellent! Surprising good choice for wine. We wanted to buy a sweatshirt or t-shirt to support the local economy but they only had XXL 🥲- so we bought one. I got the fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the slow roasted beef sandwich both with fries. My fried ck was very good, super hot. The cook forgot the pickled jalapeño, but Tori brought out a cup of them - 🥵 My husband’s beef sandwich was good, au jus is a must. Would go back if we are in that area again Worth a short drive.

Lovely and fun but very very busy even at 8pm on a Monday! Took us an hour to get our food but the service was very very friendly and kind. Wells love to come back and try again.

really good waitresses were hustling. and checking to make sure we stayed hydrated while we waited for our food!
