I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable, especially for what is supposed to be a high end Italian restaurant. We were celebrating a birthday when our broccoli rabe appetizer arrived with a cockroach in it. That alone is horrifying, but what followed made it worse. After notifying staff immediately, it took approximately 45 minutes before a manager finally came over to address the situation. During that time, there was no sense of urgency, reassurance, or professionalism from management. When the manager finally arrived, instead of taking responsibility, they attempted to blame the incident on a delivery of broccoli rabe, as if that somehow excused serving a cockroach to a guest. The responsibility lies with the restaurant to ensure food safety before anythin
I’ve come to this restaurant three times. Each time was a different experience. PROS: short rib dishes chicken scarpiello Italian rainbow cake Cons: The drinks are usually not great. The service is inconsistent, we had one great waiter, it was a younger guy. Main complaint: We ordered take out and each dish was almost $30. No side salad, no bread, with a high pasta ratio. To add, they placed my small piece of rainbow cake at the bottom of hot food. So it was hot & melted. The food wasn’t being kept warm either, it was sitting next to the hostess. If you’re going to charge almost $30 a dish, do better! Casa Nova down the street has amazing food & it includes a salad & fresh bread. Probably the last time I will support this business.
This was my first time here and I really enjoyed myself! Two of my friends and I came here to celebrate my friend. Camryn was our server and she was very nice, checked in on us frequently (not in an overbearing way), I actually gave her two options of apps I wanted I told her to surprise me! The food was good I really enjoyed the Brussel sprouts and the short rib risotto! I tried the filet tips I honestly wasn’t a big fan. The margarita was a little too sweet but overall it was a good experience and I would come back and try other options. The decor inside is really cute too!
The tastiness of the food has gone down here i'd visited this bar several times in the past and ordered my favorite which are the baby lamb chops. They use to be cooked with flavoring but no more they were tasteless. I also liked the Tuscan bean tapa you could really taste the garlic & flavor but This time around some beans were soft and some hard the arugula stem got in the way it was just to much in such a small dish and took over the taste of the dish. There's also a $20 bottle of wine they are selling for $58 dollars a bottle but hey what do we expect from retail so its normal. The service was great! I think the seating by the bar side feels more like the wine theme and feels more inviting but to the right of the bar pass the seating that faces the bar, I think needs more colors of win
Unfortunately I have to give 1 star after the way our visit ended. I dined tonight at Matto with two of my friends. This is usually our spot to get together at and catch up, and we've always enjoyed dining here. Tonight sealed the deal that we will never set foot in this place again. All was well until we were paying our bill and getting ready to leave. I happened to look over at the kitchen for no reason in particular, and immediately noticed a man with a grey baseball hat turned backwards talking to a male server in the pizza area, next to the paper towel holder. I noticed him because he was blowing his nose profusely. I thought to myself this really isn't the place to be doing that, around food prep, etc. and I hoped to see him wash his hands! Well, he went on to twist the paper towel
