The sweet potato cobbler alone is worth the trip. It’s the perfect balance of sweet, buttery, and comforting, with that homemade texture you can’t fake. And the fried chicken? Golden, crispy, and tender—easily some of the best I’ve had in a long time. What really sets this place apart is the consistency. You can tell the food is made with real care, not shortcuts. Portions are generous, prices are more than fair, and the whole experience reminds you what Southern cooking is supposed to be: warm, welcoming, and unforgettable. Absolutely a hidden gem. I’ll be back again and again.

A True Gem! I recently visited Mattie’s Grand Slam Restaurant in Warrenton, GA, and it was such a wonderful experience! The food was delicious, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned, not overly salty like many other restaurants. Every bite tasted homemade and comforting, especially the greens (I could honestly eat an entire pot of them)! The service was just as impressive as the food. I was greeted with a genuine smile, and it felt like they truly cared about making sure I was good. The atmosphere is the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. If you’re anywhere near Warrenton, do yourself a favor and stop by Mattie’s Grand Slam. It’s the perfect spot for a flavorful meal and friendly service. I’ll definitely be returning!

I loved everything about it being the first day of opening. They had a Dj playing great kid friendly music. You had somewhere to sit for dine in or take out. The staff was very professional and respectful of your time. The food was great! I had the smothered turkey wings, collards and mac&cheese. The meal came with a drink as well. I highly recommend this place. I will definitely go back I forgot to get my red velvet cake along with other great deserts they had. See yall there.

The food is beyond delicious — you can really taste the love and care in every dish. Everything came out fresh, hot, and seasoned perfectly. The service is top-notch. The sweet potato cobbler is immaculate!!

Food was so good!! Baked chicken, garlic potatoes, field peas and cornbread were all spot on. Looking for some REAL food with great taste check Mattie’s out. Inside or outside dining and friendly staff. I will be returning.
