Had a wonderful experience from start to finish! The chawanmushi is super creamy and smooth with the ikura gel! If I had to put three handrolls on the top of my list, it’d be, the toro mushroom, scallop and caviar, and the miso buttered cod! Like seriously don’t sleep on the cod! Depending on what you get, it could get pricey but honestly this spot is worth trying out and getting some of the good stuff! Between 14 items we spent about $211 which based on what we ordered, is well priced and worth it!
We had an amazing time at Matsunori! We ate the Miso Butter Cod, Eel, and Miso Cod OG hand rolls, and they were phenomenal. The cod was perfectly cooked. We got there around 1:30pm on a Saturday and were able to make it in the last 5 min. Our server, Ann, was so friendly and attentive! We would highly recommend:)
Went to Matsunori for lunch over the weekend and had a great experience. The wait was reasonable, and the staff were friendly and quick to take our order. Our server, Tracy, was especially helpful and her recommendations were spot on. We tried the miso butter cod and the spicy scallop she suggested. The miso butter cod was incredible and practically melted in my mouth. Would definitely come again.
I was really excited to try Matsunori! We came around 6:30pm on a Saturday and it took 30 minutes to get off the waitlist for an outdoors table. Service is good and fast, so despite the limited seating, turnover is fast. My favorite hand roll was the botan ebi ikura -- the sweet shrimp was large, plump, and perfect. The ikura is less salty than I'm used to, and went well with the shrimp. I also loved the salmon roll -- it was super tender, packed with salmon, and rich. My husband loved the mentaiko blue crab and snow crab rolls. The miso cod was super tender but rather sweet for my tastes. The ikura roll and scallop roll were good but not standouts. The chawanmushi was super soft but lacking flavor other than the sweet gel on top. The seaweed salad was really nice -- the cucumber added
Amazing place. A must if in Boston. We got 5 rolls each and left full. I love how much protein they put in each roll (instead of too much rice). The cod was my favorite. The wagyu was also amazing you could cut the meat with the chopsticks. Side note: the ginger is one of the best I’ve tried ever. Service is also great (fast but friendly). Expect to wait around 20-45 min (we went on a Tuesday and it was full).
