1st time at this local chain and very pleased. Quiet on this day as everyone was at the fair. Excellent pie, love the homemade sauce and dough. Perfect amount of toppings. Our service was excellent as well having my drink filled at least 3 times after spending all morning not drinking anything. Will definitely be back to try some of their other options.

The people were nice, but the pizza was not worth almost $25! We ordered the Roma (without olives), we were told it would be 30 minutes. Then at 25 minutes, we received a call from them saying they don't have spinach (which was fine) but when we got there it was another 15 minutes and then the pizza didn't even have the fire roasted tomatoes or the normal amount of sauce and ingredients maters normally has. So we basically paid $25 for bacon and cheese bread that was over cooked. Very disappointing because we love this restaurant in Albertville. They are known for there big pizzas with lots of toppings and this was more like a thin crust pizza from dominos.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great food, fast service, and the coolest server! Stopped by Mater’s Pizza & Pasta Emporium and it was a fantastic experience. The pizza was top-tier—perfect crust and toppings. I was really impressed with the speed of service; we got our food incredibly fast. I also have to give major props to a particular waitress. She had black and blue hair and was just a total ray of sunshine. She was beautiful, full of great energy, and even busted out some dance moves while taking care of people! It’s rare to see staff having that much fun while doing such a good job. If you want great pizza and a fun atmosphere, this is the place.

During our stay in Mentone, AL, we had a craving for some good pizza. Checked out a few Google searches and yelp reviews. We were headed to another home town pizza spot when we ask someone in the parking lot for advice. They suggested we try Mater’s just down the road. Nice spot in the downtown district. Exposed brick walls and “bar pie” feel. We were seated quickly and ordered our appetizer promptly. Mozzarella sticks were hot and crisp, but obviously frozen. Still good, marinara sauce was thick and tasty. We ordered a thin crust pizza w Alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce. Waitress said Alfredo was made to order so it might take a little longer. No worries. Pizza came out hot and bubbling. Crust was thin and crisp but lacked any airy fermentation in the bones. Pepperoni was crisp

This was our 2nd visit to the Fort Payne location... and I really want to like this restaurant. The food, however, is just so sub-par. First, it's a PIZZA restaurant...but the crust does not even taste or have the consistency of freshly made bread. Instead, it tastes as if it was manufactured and frozen. It has NO good yeast flavor as it should. The sauce on the pizza is also so lacking...has more of a consistency of a pasta sauce, but also lacks flavor and character. The pizza comes to the table LOOKING spectacular, but is so disappointing in flavor. The quantity of ingredients is so minimal also (e.g. 1 - 3 pieces of pepperoni on each slice of a large pizza). My wife had the steak sandwich and 'loaded' fries. The sandwich was almost all gravy and veggies with only a few pieces of meat.
