Mas Que Chimi in Grants Pass is tucked away but you MUST go and order the braised beef bowl (and more) and some fried plantains. You will not be disappointed in supporting this new Dominican Caribbean restaurant. So good! 🤤 The owners were so nice and the details they put into decor is on point!
I travel about 10 months of the year, so I eat out quite a bit. Every time I get to a new town I try to find something different. Well, I hit a home run on the first week with this amazing restaurant. I cannot speak highly enough of their food, their staff, and the atmosphere. I got two separate dishes as I have never tried this style of cuisine. Wow, was I beyond impressed. I have to say the wait is worth every second as everything is made from scratch. It is so fresh and full of flavor, mixed with the textures, it was perfect.
I absolutely love this restaurant! Every time I go the food somehow seems to get even better than the last time even though it was already fantastic the first time I went. The owners are always in there cooking/serving and they’re very friendly. The food has a unique flare to it (especially for Southern Oregon) and is very flavorful and well balanced. I would probably recommend the Mas Que Chimi sandwich with beef the most highly, but everything they make is really good. The plantains are cooked perfectly every time! It’s a fairly small restaurant, so probably not the best spot for large parties. The atmosphere is bright and vibrant, making you feel like you’re in the Caribbean. Because they make everything from scratch and they have a small staff, food does usually take 15-20 minutes
Took a quick pit stop in Grants Pass on a road trip. Found this hidden gem that I can’t recommend enough. First time trying Dominican food and it left me wanting more. Great hospitality and mouth watering tastes. Will stop every time I’m down this way.
The food is AMAZING and so fresh! Everything was made to order, even for our picky eaters. My husband even ate vegetables without a problem!
