Mary Lee Donuts Ponchatoula

My first and last time here. Should have went to Doughlicous Donuts in Hammond. Went though drive thru. The prices in the menu board are marked out so was not sure how much it would have cost. So I asked for 1/2 dozen doughnuts (1/2 glazed 1/2 chocolate covered). I was never told a total so at the window I was charged for a full dozen and didn’t realize it until they tried to hand me a full dozen. I politely said that was not my order. Girl argued that what I ordered. Again said that is not my order so with attitude the girl in the red shirt had to ask for help with refund. While I was waiting she opened the window and said I asked you twice and slammed the window. She then with ungloved hands touched all the doughnuts as she put them in a smaller box. Very disappointed.

I got 2 apple fritters. The top of them look great and fresh but the bottom was a different story. They were BURNT on the bottom BIG TIME. Hard as a rock and not eatable or edible at all. One would think that the employee handling them to put them in a bag would have felt how hard they were on the bottom. I called to let them know this so that no other customer would have the experience that I got as far as their food being eatable and or edible.

Donuts were some of the best we've tried! Pretty decent selection of donuts and a couple other breakfast items as well. Only disappointing thing was the boudin kolache. It was dry, and we definitely wouldn't order it again.

How does a donut taste 1 day old at 10am. Nothing like the experience having a donut from hammond’s mary lees. Seriously just greasy and hard!! How were the donuts hard?

Absolutely the most amazing owner of any business I've ever been to. He really thinks about the customer experience. Very down to earth. His wife is also the nicest person and they are always coming up with new ideas! Try the Dubai chocolate donut holes!!!
