Mary Cheney Library

I grew up in this town and have been coming to this library since I was a little kid in the very early 80s(yes I'm old), and I have to say this is by far one of the best things about Manchester. The library staff is always super helpful, the selection of books, DVDs, etc is fantastic. While I completely understand that the building is old and needs a lot of work and that's one reason why they are building the new library, I'm a little bummed because I have so many memories at this place. I've noticed all the "bad" reviews on this library are from cry babies that have the "it's all about me mentality". Yes the library is old, but it's a quaint little charming library that in the changing times is one of the last remaining things left from a small town. I'm going to miss this place once they

This library was pretty nice. We went specifically for the kids area. They have an entire wing for children which is nice for the kids. There was plenty of books and I liked how organized the categories were. The staff was friendly. Parking was tough, not many spaces and you may have to parallel park. The library is pretty old looking, a lot of the toys and books seem in rough shape. The bathrooms smelled kinda bad.

The library usually has the most new books and the staff goes out off their way to be supper nice. It’s my go to library even though I live in Vernon. Happy reading folks.🌞

They have a man that works in the department for customer service to find items...and he goes to the package store (silk city package store) and uses the bathroom publicly at the package store and then goes to work ... He does not need to work at the Manchester public library
