The food and drinks are so good! I love that it's a historical landmark. Imagining that i sat in the same spot as our first president is mind blowing. Rustic, cozy esthetic. Plus The service is awesome, all the girls that work there are beautiful and sweet. My husband and I go every Friday night for our date night. It's good that we can earn points every time we go and save a bit of money. There's never a wait to be seated which blows my mind every week. The best part is that it's 10 minutes from my house. #winning
After some shopping in the area, my family and I visited Marlborough Tavern for an early dinner. They had a great variety on the menu and even some fun specials with it being St. Patrick’s weekend. Everything was delicious, and we especially loved their wings. Our server was friendly and attentive. The history of the restaurant paired well with our trip to Marlborough Barn beforehand, and we would definitely come back to do the same again!
10/10 came from out of state for a quick bit to eat. This is the rigatoni chicken parm! Perfect amount of crispiness and the vodka sauce is to die for. The “bottom of the pit” mixed drink was ammmmazzzinnggg. Apple crisp for dessert is the perfect ending. Can’t forget about the Carolina gold dipping sauce for the sweet potato fries!! Best food ever! Wish I lived closer!!
The food quality and taste was not bad. The meals were pricy for the portions, and did not seem to represent the description on the menu. The ratio & quantity of egg noodles to everything else for the short rib dish was both overwhelming and disappointing. A half dozen small cubes of root vegetables sprinkled over the top did not meet expectations. We were placed in the back room, which feels like a converted event space and not a great option for Valentines date night (we had a reservation). The overall experience did not align with the price of the meal.
This is a very cool historic tavern with some great food options. I was very happy with the food and menu options. Service was decent, and the atmosphere is very nice, particularly in the historic parts. The fireplace and bar have a very warm vibe. A few more local draft craft beer options would be nice. But it’s a cool place. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.
