Went in last week after friends recommended the $5 Wednesday dosa night. We ordered a masala dosa and later an onion dosa. Unfortunately, both were barely warm and lacked the texture and flavor you’d normally expect from a dosa. I did politely mention the temperature after the first one and asked if the second could be served hot, but it was similar—lukewarm, with lightly added onions. I understand discounted specials can be challenging to execute, but customers still expect the same quality they’d get on a regular day. If that’s not feasible, it might be better to rethink the special rather than compromise the experience. I hope they take this feedback constructively, as good, well-made food is ultimately what brings people back.

We absolutely love Market Cafe Indian Restaurant! Today we went with our Pickleball team for breakfast, and it was simply outstanding. The food was fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic — every dish was damn yummy and loved by all of us. What makes this place even more special is the people behind it. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They go out of their way to make sure we’re taken care of and that we always have the best experience. Their support for our Pickleball group made us feel like family. Market Cafe is hands down the best go-to place for Indian food in town. We’ll definitely be coming back for more — both for the amazing food and the amazing people. Highly recommend it!

My wife and I tried this place after our friend recommended it for its famous goat biriyani. We went on Wednesday Night and we’re surprised to see the dosa night special where we could get any dosa for $4.99. We got two masala dosa, which were huge and very filling as well as flavorful. Unfortunately, we also made the mistake of ordering chicken biryani and spicy chicken wings on top of that. The spicy chicken wings felt as if they were frozen, but the flavor was really good (won’t dock points for it since it wasn’t advertise as otherwise). The chicken biryani was a 10 out of 10. We’re very happy with our time here and we will definitely be back to try out more dishes. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is a big fan of Indian cuisine.

Absolutely delicious food! The biriyani is a must-try — flavorful, aromatic, and served in generous portions. I also loved the breakfast items, especially the soft idlis paired with their fresh and tasty chutney. The restaurant has ample space for dining, making it a comfortable place for families or groups. The staff are friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. Great quality and quantity for a very reasonable price. And if you’re lucky, you might even get a freebie — I’ve been pleasantly surprised a couple of times! Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors in a welcoming atmosphere.

Amazing authentic Indian food with rich flavors and generous portions. Loved the taste and friendly service—definitely one of the best Indian spots in the Richmond area!
