Customer Reviews
I went to get my biometric background check done through IdentGo and the process was pretty smooth. They are located in the children’s section of the library and usually a librarian assistant in that area helps with that. The lady who did mine was very professional and helpful. Then I just went around to appreciate what a beautiful library it is. It’s modern touch is very exquisite, some part of it are reserved for art gallery exhibits. The views of the outside from the third floor ain’t that pretty but still nice to look at. They did a wonderful job with the light fixtures. It’s warm and welcoming.
The staff is very kind and the library is absolutely gorgeous but this library is a literal homeless encampment. There were homeless people sleeping on the benches on the second and third floor and using their phones to watch videos very loudly. I went to use the bathroom and waited 10 minutes for a homeless man to come out of the bathroom and when I walked in it had smelled strongly of burnt chemicals. I was worried he smoked meth and the second hand smoke would harm my child and I am 6 months pregnant. Also a homeless woman vomitted very very violently and loudly right in front of us. She was obviously coming off of drugs. It was kind of a scary experience, which is unfortunate because I thought this was a place I could bring my children. I just moved here and I am feeling sad about the
Such a beautiful library with wonderful staff! The garden outside is such a terrific idea and just absolutely gorgeous! This place invites you to take advantage of their resources and you can feel the passion for the literary arts through and through.
A cornerstone for the joy of all things literary since I checked out my first book (many, many) years ago. Since it's renovation, it's become a place where young and old can gather and enjoy a book, some time on the interwebs, or *swoon* play a video game with friends. Times have changed and our library has wisely changed where needed, while maintaining that indescribable library smell ( you know it). Mark and Emily Turner Library rules!!
One of the many things that I miss about living in Presque Isle, is just being able to go to the library to read. It was always so warm, inviting, comfortable, and clean!
