Surprise Find in Pismo Beach – El Picosito’s New Location! I had a pleasant surprise this morning during one of my walks in Pismo Beach. While waiting in line at Splash Café, I spotted an employee from El Picosito—and it instantly reminded me that they were opening a new location nearby. Sure enough, it’s right next door to Splash, and I couldn’t resist the temptation. I jumped out of line and walked straight in. I ordered the shrimp gobernador tacos—and wow, they did not disappoint. These tacos come loaded with juicy shrimp, melted cheese, sautéed veggies, and tangy pickled red onions, all with a subtle kick of chipotle sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor. We ordered tacos to go to sit outside near the pier with our dog. My husband and I we each ordered 3 tacos. He had all Al Pastor. I had one Al Pastor which was excellent, 1 spicy shrimp taco which was also great and 1 regular shrimp taco with melted cheese which was ok but not my favorite. Everything tasted very fresh and reasonable price, about $3.50 to $4 each taco. I would definitely eat here again.

I used to come to the excellent restaurant at the same location (El Mirador) for 25 years. I was devastated when they closed. But was really impressed with the new place. Renovated and super clean. The fish taco was awesome. Super fresh. Chilaquiles Rojos off the charts good. This is their second place (first in Santa Maria). Highly recommend even if I will always miss El Mirador.
