Mario the Baker

Hands down the best pizza in Stamford and that’s saying a lot given the competition. Mario the Baker has been a staple for locals for decades, and there’s a reason people keep coming back. We love bringing our New York transplant friends here. They only know the Harbor Point and downtown spots, which are great options, but once they try Mario’s, it instantly becomes their new go-to. We’ve had more outings, parties, and celebrations here than we can count. The food is consistently excellent, the pizza is unbeatable, and the surprising thing for first-timers is that it’s not just a pizzeria! The full Italian menu is legitimately fantastic. Add in the warm, family-style atmosphere and the classic artwork on the walls, and it’s just one of those places that feels like home the second you sit

This has been a long standing favorite of many who live in North Stamford. Pizza and pretty much everything else is very good. The only reason why four stars and not five is the parking lot.

Love this place but my recent experience was a bit negative so updating my review - food was great but the waitress serving my friend and I was a bit rude. Still one of my top pizza spots though!

Great first visit—daughter loved her wedge and I asked them to put together a pasta dish not on menu and they totally complied. Then they gave us is a free lobster tail pastry! Really nice authentic place.

There is a parking lot attendant here which was a relief because the parking lot is very small and busy, so we were impressed with that. We entered and had the option to sit anywhere we liked, the waitress brought over menus and took our drink order. We asked for a little more time when she came back to take our order and this seemed to frustrate her. I ordered the sausage and peppers grinder, it came out first and was a little burnt. A chicken Parm pizza roll and eggplant pizza roll were the other two orders and they came out a few minutes after my grinder. The waitress brought us our check and started cleaning the table not even confirming if we were done or not. I wabted to order desert and she didn't even care.
