I would like to show those Marine Artillery Gun Crews how to Bounce the Tire's in Direct Fire Crewing a M114 155mm Field Gun and Flip Firing. We were Firing Full Charge at 700 yard's and that Gun Tube would recoil as far back as that Gun Tube could recoil. We didn't have it spiked in and those tire would raise up off the ground slightly at Full Recoil and bounce back down to the ground. First sergeant referred to it as "Bouncing The Tires". If I mentioned anything about Flip Firing a Field Gun, I fear I would be barred for Life from Fort Sill. I'm not going to say anything about how to flip fire an Artillery Field Gun.
