Marie's Family Diner

Jack and Ken’s Breakfast review took us to Alden, NY. Kind of a drive, to Marie’s Family Diner. Alden is a cute little town and you can tell that the diner used to be a bar. A friendly vibe hits you as soon as you walk through the door. The coffee was hot and delicious. Our waitress Ashley was the bomb. Friendly, funny and efficient. Breakfast was AMAZING! We had a difficult choice, the menu is extensive and we all wanted to order 5 different things. I ended up withe a HUGE Bacon Cheeseburger Omlette and hash browns and a side of the BEST Homemade Corned beef hash EVER! Ken had some Egg Nest thing with smoked Polish Sausage. Stephie had Eggs and Homemade hash, she loved it too! Ken paid for a Veterans breakfast and they let us hang an Alex event poster. This breakfast was NOT 5 ⭐️s

Stopped here before a morning of errands and stops. My wife and I both had the 2-2-2 special. All I can say is come hungry! We ended up taking food home for tomorrow. Food by the way is very good, pancakes were dense & tasty, and the coffee was full of flavor and my cup was never empty. Definitely adding to our list of breakfast spots if we are in the area again.

Stopped going here years ago. Gave a second try today and was just as disappointed if not more. First we were asked to move to a smaller table just in case they got busy. A single gentleman came in sat at that table and they didn't ask him to move - then another single gentleman sat at the next table and wasn't asked to move either. So what's up with that?? The roast beef was a small portion on the smallest hardest homemade roll. The Fry's were good but the portion was very small. The price for these portions was way to high. Well that was my second try and there won't be a third!!!! Disappointed again.

Super cute family run diner right in the heart of Alden. Betty Boop themed decor. Wide variety of menu options with unique specials on Thursdays. Open Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. On Sundays they are open 7:00 a.m. until noon. The food was really good quality and portion size, with invividualized packets for condiments (butter, syrup etc.). Everything tasted home made. The french toast was thick and filling. The home fries were a highlight too. Cups of coffee never bottom out, as they frequently top off those who want more. It's hard to find any negatives. Grasping at straws, I wish there was ice on the water and was also unaware they do not accept credit cards. Fortunately we had cash. I believe they have and atm in there, or there is one in close proximity

Fantastic little diner in the heart of Alden. Waiter (Marie) was attentive and friendly, my meal was served fast, sated my appetite, and was delicious to boot. Prices are affordable and reasonable (though I do believe they are cash-only, so be prepared). All in all, fantastic place that I will be visiting again.
