Enjoyed a peaceful meditation at this gorgeous beach at the Marie & Stanley White Palm Avenue Portal in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea! I don't get here often, but when I have enough time to stop, ot has never been crowded. To the right of the portal entrance is a private Yacht Club so that may be why it is so serene. On a blue sky day, it is a soothing and calm beach experience. Highly recommend this beach & a huge than you to Marie & Stanley White !
This entrance to the beach in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is tucked away, right off A1A, and has its own small pay-by-space parking area right in front of the beach. Park here, enter through the shaded, covered portal, and in a few steps you’re on the beautiful beach. We enjoy walking here, and a half mile stroll along the shoreline will bring you to the Pier and Aruba Beach Cafe. Or, you can catch some rays, swim, snorkel or dive. There are dive shops close by. It’s quiet, clean, and a great place to watch the incredible windsurfers that come out late in the afternoons. There are two showers at the entrance and a couple of benches. This area of the beach has an intimate small town feel, yet it’s a short walk to the center of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. Get the parking app—it’s so much easier and if
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea has seven beach portals which are entrances to the beach. They are like a mini parks with showers, benches, and chairs. The portals were all named in honor of prominent community members. This beach portal is a tribute to Marie and Stanley White. When they retired the couple purchased their Lauderdale-by-the-Sea home in 1965. For many years Marie was a fixture at Town Commission meetings. To honor the couple's many civic contributions, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea named the Palm Avenue beach portal after them in 2003. The beach portals were designed to be places where locals can access the beach but they don't have a lot of amenities. For instance this beach does not have a life guard on duty but there are colorful benches and a shower. Beach walkers are encouraged to grab
The “Marie & Stanley White”Palm Avenue beach portal is a small but well maintained entrance. A few parking spaces available for $3.00 per hour. There are fresh water showers and a covered sitting area. Thanks for reading my review and a helpful thumbs up would let me know someone else reads these reviews. Have a great day.
