Mariawald Retreat House

I loved taking a silent retreat at Mariawald this weekend. The retreat center was clean and well maintained. Even in the snow I enjoyed the grounds. It's a beautiful place!

I love it here. So peaceful, and you get so much for the price. However, I do wish the beds were more comfortable. It's a thin, twin mattress and if you, like me, have a bad back, you may want to bring extra padding for additional comfort.

This place is a little bit of heaven on Earth. Our group has been coming here every year for 25 years for our annual retreat. The nuns are always so welcoming and sweet. I highly recommend it if you're looking for a retreat location.

Beautiful campus and comfortable meeting spaces. Crisp and the Sisters are very gracious and welcoming.

I first encountered Mariawald when they hosted a "Vets Journey Home" program, a three day healing retreat for military veterans returning from stressful and dangerous overseas assignments like Afghanistan. It was mellow and calm, with a beautiful setting. The rooms and meeting facilities were comfortable and clean. But the dining facility and food was outstanding. I've staffed VJH and attended many events in other settings and none compared to Mariawald for total experience.
