Maria's Submarine Sandwich Shop

We visited Maria's because it came up on Instagram from this guy who promotes South Shore businesses, and I'm really glad we did. We got a couple of subs and a slice of pizza. The subs were all made with fresh slices deli meats & cheeses, and delicious meatballs. The toppings were generous but not too much. The pizza was excellent and I really want to go back for a full pie. The staff was very friendly and quick. I thought the whole "no lettuce" thing was interesting, and I'll bet there's a good reason for it, and I didn't miss it.

Cash only. Friendly staff. We had the 2 Italian Sub & 2 Sliced Turkey, all with various toppings. They were delicious. Everything was fresh. The interior is very retro. We felt like we were back in the 50's. Large counter; no tables. Clean establishment.

Best Italian subs on the South Shore. The meat is cold and fresh. The bread is soft. The toppings are generous. Can't beat Maria's!

They’ve earned their high rating, the reason for which I picked them in the first place. They did not disappoint. Beware, it’s a cash only place, but they have an ATM on premise.
