I felt so lucky to be recommended this restaurant. It has the best vegan menu, plus all the other traditional plates. I got the vegan enchiladas with vegan horchata. It was delicious and clearly homemade with quality. If you come to Tahoe or pass through, absolutely STOP HERE! 🙌🫶

Fast friendly service and great vegan lunch spot with outdoor seating. The soyrizo tacos were really good, on homemade tortillas, and came with a side of cilantro rice and nicely seasoned black beans, the sopes were delicious too. Nice vegan chicken, but the potato soyrizo was our favorite. We will return.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the homemade chips. We ordered two burritos: one carne asada and one carnitas. Unfortunately, both were underwhelming. They lacked flavor, had very little meat, and were filled with soggy, overcooked rice. At $16 each, they felt overpriced for the quality. The first serving of chips and salsa was complimentary, but there was an extra charge for refills. Overall, the experience was just okay, but the burritos were a real letdown.

Loved it! I am Mexican so ofc I have higher standards when it comes to Mexican food and can tell when something is authentic vs something just pretending to be authentic. This is definitely the real deal! My partner had the quesadillas fritas and the masa alone was super delicious- just the right saltiness and moist texture, just like my aunt made her tamales! I suspect that the masa is made w lard, very delicious! My torta de pierna was very flavorful and out of this world too. Would hands down definitely recommend!

Maria's is some of the best Mexican food in town. All of the dishes are super flavorful and well cooked. The mole and shrimp tacos are two of my favorites but you can't go wrong. The owners are also very kind people who take opportunities to give back to the community.
