Mandalay Restaurant & Cafe

Very chill restaurant with great food, no complaints on the service. We had two types of chicken #11 and #9 with basil and they were both very tasty. Portions are are large.

We stopped here on a Friday evening to learn they only do carryout on the weekends, which was a bit surprise but whatever. We grabbed a beef curry, pork curry, and a flat noodle dish to go and devoured everything at some of the outdoor seating near Ellsworth Place. Everything was super spicy and very delicious. Zero complaints on the food, some of the better Burmese food I've had.

Mandalay is one of our favorite go to spots in downtown Silver Spring. The Burmese food is always on point with bold flavors and great portions. Every dish we’ve tried has been delicious, and the service feels warm and relaxed. The vibe is comfortable and friendly, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. We always leave happy and already planning our next visit. If you haven’t tried it yet you should definitely go! Owned by such lovely people.

This was my first time trying the restaurant - I ordered take out and got the rice with chicken and hot sour mustard. At first I was taken aback a bit by the price on the entree but when I picked it up I realized how huge the portion was! It's something I could eat over a week, which makes this restaurant a great value. And the food was good too! Don't let the Purple Line construction deter you from going to this place!
