MammaMia Deli Market - Gino & Gianni's Pizzeria

Been coming here for a bit now, so decided it was time for a review. I was super happy when we finally got an Italian deli out this way, and even better when they announced the pizza side of things. We came tonight to try the pizza, and I was super pleased. They have a lot of delicious options, and you can get it by the slice which makes it more appealing since you don't have to commit to a whole pie. They definitely invested heavily in the pizza side of things, and it shows. The slices come out perfect with great crust. I will need to try the pasta and other options, but I'm sure they're great. The deli also has a wonderful selection of items, and the sandwiches slap. Definitely get that Mama Mia signature, because the pistachio cream is one of the best things I've ever tasted. The bread

So delicious! The #1 Italian Torpedo!! Perfect sandwich: thin sliced meats and cheeses, hearty bread with seasonings on top (soft and chewy on the inside, nice crunch on the outside but doesn't cut the roof of your mouth), thin sliced onion and shredded lettuce. Condiments are perfect, sandwich holds together. Just delish! And everyone working is friendly and are completely professionals in the kitchen! They have a fun market as well you can peruse while you wait. I haven't tried the pizza yet but it's on my list! Highly recommend MammaMia!!!

This place is a vibe!! This review is for the pizzeria but the whole place is pretty cool 😎. I tried a slice of the Mob Ties special with pepperoni, homemade meatball, sausage and jalapeños. Yummmmmm 🤤 The flavor was 👍🏽 and the crust was delicious! After visiting so many generic pizza places I am so glad this place opened. They’re building their small business brand and I am here for it! Come for the pizza 🍕 stay for the Italian American vibes complete with The Godfather vinyl decals, marble counter tops, and Frank Sinatra music 🎵 floating through the place.

Best Market in town with all authentic Italian meats, pastas and sodas!!! It doesn’t stop there with their sandwiches and pizzas!!! I feel like I’m walking into Italy as we speak. Best God Father and Sistine Chapel vibes. Lots of love and attention put into this place definitely a great San Diego spot to visit.

Drove all the way from North County San Diego to visit this place - and I’m absolutely heartbroken.. to say, we’re going to have to drive 45 minutes to eat at our FAVORITE ITALIAN DELI from now on!! Hands down the BEST Italian sandwiches and pizza we’ve had in San Diego county. We were absolutely blown away by the incredible flavors within their specialty sandwiches that we couldn’t leave without taking one their pizza pies to go, we just weren’t expecting it to find the best pizza we’ve ever had in a random strip mall in La Mesa! They have a great selection of both traditional Italian subs and specialty sandwiches, either of which are full of flavor and packed to brim with fresh ingredients.
